Is Lyfe Gym just an App?

No, Lyfe Gym is conveniently located in Johnston, IA on Merle Hay Rd. Lyfe Gym has 18 private rooms each with their own piece of equipment. The Lyfe Gym App is a required companion to the physical location. With the Lyfe Gym App you will set up your membership, reserve private rooms, pay, and unlock the doors to the facility and any private room that you reserved. We designed the whole system from the ground up to be super easy to sign up, book, and access.

How much does Lyfe Gym cost?

We have three convenient membership options, Good Lyfe, Better Lyfe and Best Lyfe. No matter how you plan to use Lyfe Gym we have an option that works for you.

Good Lyfe: $9/month and $2 booking fees for each 15 minutes reserved. A low monthly price!

Better Lyfe: $19/month and $1 booking fees for each 15 minutes reserved. A slightly high monthly fee, but rooms are half price. The more you go the more you save!

Best Lyfe: $59/month with your first hour of every day included then only $1 booking fee for anything beyond an hour. The Best Lyfe gives you a full hour to book every day and at midnight (CST) your account is reset back to having one included hour. Our premium membership option includes the FITBOD app, which integrates artificial intelligence into a personal trainer to create personalized workout plans that will help reach your goals. Even more, you get nutrition guidance included at no additional cost!

With all our memberships we have no initiation fees, enrollment fees, annual fees, or FOB fees. All prices even include all applicable taxes. Our pricing is straightforward and simple because only your workout should make you sweat! 

Do your memberships have a commitment?

All Lyfe Memberships can be paused anytime right from the Lyfe Gym App. No doctors notes, filling out forms or coming up with excuses as to why you would like to pause. Lyfe Gym is the easiest, fastest, and most convenient gym to join and it’s also just as easy to pause.

Can I Try Lyfe Gym for Free?

If you have never activated a membership at Lyfe Gym before, you are likely eligible for a 1-week trial membership that includes $8 booking credit. This gives you an opportunity to try Lyfe Gym out without spending any money. You will need to have a valid payment method on file. Just go to the Lyfe Membership screen in the Lyfe Gym App and you should see a notification at the bottom of the screen if you are eiligible. 

How do I get the Lyfe Gym App?

The Lyfe Gym App can be found at the Google Play Store for Android phones and the Apple App Store for iPhones. Links can be found at or click the link corresponding to your phone below. You can also search for “Lyfe Gym” in your app store.



How does the FITBOD Membership work?

When you sign up for the Best Lyfe Membership you should receive an email from FITBOD within a day instructing you how to sign up for Lyfe Gym provided access to FITBOD. If you are already enrolled in the Good Lyfe or Better Lyfe Memberships you can upgrade at any time in the Lyfe Membership page of the Lyfe Gym App. just select the Best Lyfe Membership and press “activate”, then wait for your membership to update. Your fee for the old membership will be prorated towards your first billed month of Best Lyfe. 

If your Best Lyfe Membership is paused you will no longer have access to the FITBOD Membership.

Do you have staff?

We are an unstaffed gym. We come in regularly, but we do not have a dedicated staffing schedule. The hallways, lobby, and entrances are monitored with security cameras. You can aways reach us with the “contact us” option in the Lyfe Gym App menu or at if you have any questions.

What are your hours?

24 hours per day, 7 day a week, 365 days a year. Fitness your way on your schedule! The FITBOD app included with the Best Lyfe Membership is also at your service 24 hours per day, so you can generate curated workouts, just for you, at any time! 

What is the Lyfe Gym Referral Program?

Just because you enjoy private rooms doesn’t mean you don’t want to share Lyfe Gym with others. The Lyfe Gym referral program gives members a discount when they join with friends or family. The details of the discount are spruced up occasionally so you can head over to the Lyfe Gym Referral Program and see what the current offer is, but I can tell you now, it’s pretty good.

What happens if I can’t make it to my booking?

Currently, we do not have the ability to cancel or move reservations. Once you confirm your purchase the room is reserved to your account for the time you have it booked. If you run in to an issue, please feel free to reach out with the “contact us” form in the Lyfe Gym App menu and we will try to help you out.

Why do you need location access?

Our security locks use Bluetooth to exchange information with your phone to gain access to the facility and private rooms. Many phones have the Bluetooth service on the location chip which is why we need to request location access. We do not monitor your location and take your privacy very seriously. Our whole gym experience is built on privacy, why would our app be any different.

What’s with the text code when I first visited?

This is part of the security system at Lyfe Gym. We ask for your phone number and text you a code to ensure that you own the phone associated with your account. You will be asked to verify once every 12 months or if you reinstall the Lyfe Gym App. Please make sure that you type the correct phone number in, if you accidently type the wrong number you will have to uninstall and reinstall the Lyfe Gym App to trigger another phone number request.

Do you have locker rooms/showers?

We do not currently have locker rooms or showers. We would love to offer them but right now our first facility only has a bathroom. The rooms are private so you can change in the room if you would like, or you can change in the bathroom.

Are you a franchise?

We are a home-grown small business in Johnston, IA. If you are in to supporting local businesses, then we fit the bill. Although we appreciate that you confused our service for a larger chain, it makes us feel like we are doing a good job serving you with the resources we have.
